Nobody's Pets by Debra White

While walking her dogs after work on January 6, 1994, Debra White was struck by a car and left permanently disabled. She orginally started this book as a way to pass the time since she no longer worked. With the support of friends and other writers, Nobody's Pets became a reality. She hopes to use this book as a way towards self-sufficiency and to help unwanted animals find new, loving and permanent homes. She currently lives with her three dogs in Tempe, AZ, USA.

Nobody's Pets starts in the wee hours of the morning when two men break into the Denver SPCA and steal abandoned dogs and cats to take to Wyoming. The thieves plan to sell the animals to an underhanded research laboratory, but Rosie the scrappy mutt and Guffey the pampered feline lead six of their friends to freedom in the Wyoming wilderness. Danger awaits the pack as they struggle to return to their friends in Denver. Nobody's Pets tells a special story about friendship, hope and determination.
A wonderful story told by the animals themselves and appropriate for all ages.  Anyone who has compassion for animals will love reading this book.
